Fully trained as a Bella Canto singer specializing in Aria Antiche, Art Song and Folk Song, she received an award from the Italian Consulate for her efforts in the Aria Category of the Queensburgh Eisteddfod and was the title holder of the Aria Antiche Trophy awarded by the Societa Dante Alighieri in Durban. Sandy accompanies herself on Piano and Guitar her repertoire is based on requests and suggestions. From her first piano composition at the age of four, Sandy has written over 40 classical pieces, three of which have been performed by the KZN Provincial Choir (KZNYC) and over 80 contemporary pieces.

After appearing for the first time in Durban last year, award winning cabaret artist Francois Charel Haasbroek will woe audiences again in three performances scheduled at It’sTaboo. Francois, who appeared in SABC’s Hectic9nine and who has toured South Africa with the Tygerberg Children’s Choir, is renowned for his edgy cabarets . His shows are scheduled for Monday 10 March, Monday 14 April and Monday 12 May. Each show an extension of his transformation “Lost In…” the first one titled Lost In... Memory.

It’sTaboo proudly introduces ConBrio featuring Cristina Borges and some of Durban’s best never-seen talent.
Cristina Borges’ lustrous stage career started at the age of 5, she started playing various musical instruments at age 7. Her formative years were strongly influenced by the internationally acclaimed Cecelia Borga Duarte. In later years she worked with Taubie Kushlick in Fiddler On The Roof in 1980 and once again for her in Evita in 1981. She has also been seen in West Side Story 1980, Salome in 1981. She has been on the small screen in Madam and Eve and also featured in the last Vodacom add with Michale de Pina amongst others. She has shared the stage with Kurt Darren in the early 90's.Borges recently settled in Durban after an exciting career in Mozambique. She currently works full time as a vocal couch specialising in 6 languages: Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish, English and Afrikaans.
She is also the founder of an NPO for the entertainment and music education of children victims of HIV. They aim to promote music education to deprived children and young adults and then create a platform for them to entertain and subsequently help others with special emphasis on animal rescue institutions.Cristina brings her beautiful voice and amazing passion to It’sTaboo’s “Monday’s Live…” on three Mondays from March till May 2014. Her passion for music and performers will also be showcased as she will be introducing young upcoming artists during her show.
